Crypto Scam List 2022

Trading is exciting and offers the opportunity to get a return on your investment with relatively little effort. However, real trading, particularly with risky crypto assets takes time, experience, knowledge and working with a regulated broker for lasting success. Unfortunately, too many consumers are unaware of this and end up trading with a fraudulent broker.

The number of crypto scams is skyrocketing and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Wherever there is innovation, deceitful parties seek to profit off of the public. Digital currencies are new to most of us and require a steep learning curve. These crypto fraudsters take advantage of people who desperately need to make money and don’t want to be left behind in the crypto currency revolution.

CryptoScamBrokers are combating this problem by putting our research skills to work on your behalf. We are aware of which brokers are getting flagged and which are legitimate. Our team has compiled, researched and updated the following list of suspected crypto scams for 2022. We continually upgrade this list with new information to keep you informed.

How We Created This Crypto Scam List

Our team receives alerts about which brokers and crypto services are getting flagged as suspected scams. These brokers appear on our list for any or a combination of the following reasons:

  • Not licensed or Offshore license
  • False guarantees to clients
  • Negative reputation
  • Non-Compliance
  • Official warnings

What does this mean? A broker that is not licensed has no regulator to back up their services. They have either not bothered to obtain a license to offer trading services legally for clients in certain locations or they have applied and have been turned down. In some cases, brokers have lost their license because of poor trading practices. Some are lying about their licensing.

Offshore licenses can be almost as bad as no license. The problem is that many third-rate regulators offer little to no oversight and allow supposed brokers to pay fees so they can claim to be licensed. The average consumer may not know which regulators are reliable and which are not. That is where consumers should protect themselves by doing their own due diligence and researching various licenses. We can make that step easier by providing information in these broker reviews.

Any of the brokers on this list may have gotten flagged because of a negative reputation. There may be a plethora of customer complaints, bad press, or outstanding court cases. A whistle blower might have exposed their dodgy practices.

Non-compliance means that the broker is not adhering to the laws of the areas where they are operating or have customers. This goes hand in hand with not having a license, but it is a more detailed complaint, usually from government officials and regulators and can lead to legal action.

If a broker has earned an official warning about it from a regulator, that is a sign that their notoriety has attracted the attention of government bodies or regulators and they have merited a specific warning. There is absolutely no reason to trade with a broker that has been the subject of an official warning.

How to Use This Crypto Scam List

We have created this list as a valuable tool for safe trading. If you have located a broker or trading service that piques your interest, consult this list. If their name appears, stay away. They have been flagged. This doesn’t mean, however, that any broker that is not on our list is perfectly fine. Always do your own research and due diligence. Check the list periodically to ensure your broker’s name doesn’t appear.

These reviews are also an educational tool to guide you in your own research on brokers. After reading a number of them, you will have an idea of what to look for, what to avoid and how to analyze a trading opportunity. We hope that you find this list useful and that it will make cryptotrading safer.
